Steps to activate a new Credit Card or Debit Card

All new, renewal and replacement Citi Credit Cards, Debit Cards and Citibank Ready Credit Cards sent via mail will be in a de-activated(blocked) status. As part of this safeguard, any transactions attempted on a de-activated card will be declined.

However, please note that recurring payments on replaced/renewed cards will continue to take effect until such arrangements are being cancelled.

Citi Mobile® App
  • Activation/De-activation of your card is immediate and you will receive a confirmation SMS from us.
  • The Citi Mobile® App also contains many other convenient features that makes using your card safer and easier.

Step 1 : Download “Citibank SG” mobile app from App Store or Google Play

Step 2: Activate the card

  • Click "Activate card"
  • Follow the instructions to complete your card activation

Or if you have logged on to your Citi Mobile® App

  • Tap the Profile menu → Under 'Cards & accounts' tap on the card you would like to activate.
  • Tap 'Activate now'.
  • Enter the One Time Pin (OTP) of Citi Mobile Token PIN to proceed
  • Enter the CVV of your new card.
  • Tap Activate.
Citibank Online
  • If you access www.citibank.com.sg using your mobile, you will be automatically redirected to a mobile site.
  • Activation/De-activation of your card is immediate and you will receive a confirmation SMS from us.
  • De-activation via this channel is only applicable for Credit Cards
To activate/de-activate your cards online using your Internet Banking PIN:
  • Visit www.citibank.com.sg via computer/laptop/tablet
  • Click on "LOGIN TO", followed by "Citibank Online"
  • Enter:
    • a. User ID
    • b. Password
  • Under "Services" > "My Profile", click on "Card Activation" link and follow the steps on-screen.

How to view your card details on the Citi Mobile® App

  1. Log in to your Citi Mobile® App or download the “Citibank SG” mobile app from App Store or Google Play
  2. Select the Credit Card you wish to view
  3. Tap on the “Manage” button on the top right
  4. You will be able to view your card details and expiry date on the screen
  5. Tap on “View” to see your temporary CVV
  6. Add your card details to your e-wallet or use your card details to start transacting online!

Disclaimers:

#You will be prompted to activate your physical card from 90 days of your card approval and you will not be able to access your temporary CVV past the 90 days validity. The physical card CVV number will replace your temporary CVV number.

Steps to activate Credit Card or Debit Card usage overseas

For your security, all new, renewal and replacement Citi Credit Cards, Debit Cards and Citibank Ready Credit Cards will be de-activated for overseas usage, unless:

  • You had specifically selected to activate the overseas usage feature on your account opening application form.
  • The card being renewed/ replaced was previously activated for overseas usage.

Remember to activate the overseas usage feature on your Citi Credit Cards, Debit Cards and Citibank Ready Credit Cards before traveling to enjoy your global privileges.

Please note that overseas usage de-activation for Credit Cards will only disable overseas ATM cash withdrawals and point-of-sale (POS) magnetic stripe transactions. POS EMV Chip transactions will not be disabled.
