Frequently Asked Questions on Citi Plus

Citi Plus customers have access to a holistic suite of banking services, delivered in an integrated digital experience to help them grow their wealth. Citi Plus customers get to earn bonus interest on their Citi Interest Booster account when they save, invest, insure, spend and/or take up a mortgage. The bonus interest is exclusive to Citi Plus customers only.

You can open a Citi Interest Booster account if you:

• • are Singapore citizen or Permanent Resident
• • aged 18 years old and above

For opening of account for foreigners, you need to be aged 18 years old and above, and:

• • ensure Passport has at least 6 months validity
• • hold a valid pass^*

^*Valid pass can be Employment Pass, Personalised Employment Pass, S-Pass, Work Permit, Dependent Pass, Long Term Visit Pass, Long Term Visit Pass-Plus, Student Pass.

Upon submitting your application online, you will receive a notification from us regarding your account opening status via email and SMS. You will also receive a notification once your account is successfully opened and ready for use.

Once your account is established, your Citi Plus Debit Mastercard^® and Pin will be mailed separately to your mailing address in about 5 working days. Once you receive your Citi Plus Debit Mastercard^®, you can download the Citi Mobile^® App to enjoy your new banking account and get started on using your card!

If you are an existing Citi Priority or Citibanking customer, you can submit your registration to convert to Citi Plus here. If you are an existing Citigold Private Client or Citigold client, we suggest that you contact your Relationship Manager to review the differences between your current banking type and Citi Plus before deciding whether to convert.

If you currently hold a Citi Wealth First Account, you will no longer enjoy Bonus Interest on your Citi Wealth First Account after you convert your banking relationship to Citi Plus.

Citi Interest Booster Account is a SGD checking and saving account. You can boost the interest rate on your savings by completing simple missions such as spending with your Citi Plus Debit Mastercard^®.

Singapore dollar deposits of non-bank depositors are insured by the Singapore Deposit Insurance Corporation, for up to S$100,000 in aggregate per depositor per Scheme member by law. You can earn bonus interest rates by completing simple missions. Each mission carries a different requirement and a different bonus interest rate. Your average daily balance capped at S$50,000 shall accrue Base Interest Rate at 1.50% p.a. and balances in excess of S$50,000 shall accrue Base Interest Rate at 0.01% p.a.

Each mission carries different requirements and a different bonus interest rate. When you fulfill the requirements of all the missions and combine the bonus interest rates and 1.50% p.a. base interest rate, you’ll earn a total interest rate of up to 4.0% p.a. Interest rates are subject to fluctuation. You can check the requirements and bonus interest rate for each mission via your Citi Mobile^® App (Local Currency Deposits > Citi Interest Booster Account > Interest Booster > Boost) 

For “Spend”, “Invest”, “Insure” and “Mortgage” missions, bonus interest rates earned in the current month will apply to your account balance in the next calendar month (interest will be computed on your average daily balance in the next calendar month), and credited to your Citi Interest Booster Account in the following month. For “Save” mission, if you increased your average daily balance from December to January by $1,500, the bonus interest will be computed on this incremental average daily balance, and credited to your Citi Interest Booster Account in March.

For “Birthday” month bonus, if your birthday is in January, the 0.10% bonus interest will be computed on your average daily balance in your birthday month, and credited to your Citi Interest Booster Account in February.

You will receive the Base Interest on the last working day of the calendar month. For example, your base interest for July’s balance will be credited on 31 July 2022. However, if 31 July 2022 falls on a weekend or public holiday, the base interest for July’s balance will be credited on the last working day of that calendar month, which is 29 July 2022.

For bonus interest, you will receive it 2 months following the month you complete the missions. Except for “Birthday” month bonus interest, which you will receive in the next calendar month.

The good news is, you don’t have to apply separately. A Citi Plus Debit Mastercard^® will be issued to you upon successful account opening. Upon receipt of the debit card, you can activate it via the Citi Mobile^® App and use it for cash withdrawal at ATMs or to make purchases.

Download “Citibank SG” mobile app from App Store or Google Play. Click "Activate card and follow the instructions to complete your card activation

If you have logged on to your Citi Mobile^® App. Tap the Profile menu → Under 'Cards & accounts', click on ‘Citi Plus Debit Mastercard^®’. Tap 'Activate now' and follow the instructions to complete your card activation

Log in to the Citi Mobile^® App. Tap the “Profile & Settings” icon in top-right corner. Click on “Manage Cards & accounts” and then “Citi Plus Debit Mastercard^®”. Select “Set up / Reset ATM PIN” and follow the instructions to set up your ATM PIN.

Please activate your debit card and set up ATM PIN at your earliest convenience. The debit card will be cancelled if you do not activate it within 90 calendar days from card issuance

Yes! You can place orders 24/7. All buy orders will be completed within 5 business days (T+5) from the day they are transacted. T is the transaction date of the buy order. Redemptions would usually take up to 5 business days (T+5) from the day they are transacted. Once completed, sales proceeds will be settled into your designated settlement account.

With the Citi Mobile^® App, you can easily subscribe to or redeem authorised and recognised investment funds.

You can invest via a single lump sum investment from as low as $100, or you can start a Regular Savings Program (RSP) or both.

Citibank eFX is an online platform that allows you to convert funds within your Citibank accounts into different foreign currencies. You will need to open a Global Foreign Currency Account for the foreign currencies that you would like to trade in. Alternatively, you can apply for an Overnight Deposit which serves as a deposit facility to store your foreign currencies.

Customers should be mindful of the regulations in their country of domicile with regards to engaging in FX transactions. Citibank eFX is made available to customers on a non-solicited basis.

Don't worry. If you lost your card, you can log in to the Citi Mobile^® App to block it. Simply access the Cards tab under the Profile & Settings menu, select the card to be blocked and click on “Report as lost or stolen”. Our customer service officer will disable your existing cards and will issue new cards.
