Kill Switch – Instant blocking of your internet banking access, banking account(s) and
card(s) via the Citi Mobile® App, Citibank Online, and the CitiPhone hotline.

 

At Citi, your security is our utmost priority. By activating the feature known as “Kill Switch” ,
you will block your banking account(s) and card(s).

An SMS and email notification will be sent after Kill Switch has been successfully activated.
Our officers will contact you within 24 hours to guide you on the next steps to restore your
access and accounts. However, if you need any immediate assistance, please contact our
officers at our fraud hotline (+65 6337 5519).

You should activate Kill Switch only if you are a victim of scam or suspect your login credentials, bank account(s) and/or card(s) have been compromised.

Card transactions reflected as pending on Citibank Online and the Citi Mobile® App will still be successfully posted during the time Kill Switch remains activated. Any attempted transactions after Kill Switch is activated will be blocked.

Important Information

As existing future-dated transactions, standing instructions, recurring payments and investment instructions (if applicable) will not be processed while Kill Switch remains active, please make alternative payment arrangements. The Bank will not be liable for any loss incurred by you in connection with the above, including any late payments or disruption in services.

Once Kill Switch is activated, please note that all your account(s) with us (banking, credit card and Ready Credit) will be instantly blocked. The following transactions will not be processed while the Kill Switch is active:

  • • Digital banking transactions, e.g.
    1. - Local and overseas outgoing funds transfers (PayNow/FAST/GIRO/Telegraphic Transfer)
    2. - Bill payments
    3. - Existing future-dated transactions
    4. - Standing instructions
    5. - Recurring payments Investment instructions
    6. - PayAll
    7. - Any debiting transactions
    8. - Any transactions requiring card authorisation
  • • Purchases (Physical and digital debit/credit card transactions)
  • • ATM cash withdrawal

How to activate Kill Switch on the CitiPhone Hotline

  • Dial our CitiPhone hotline at +65 6225 5225.
  • Select the option to report on scam or fraudulent transactions > To activate Kill Switch due to scam or fraud.
  • Depending on your profile, you will be required to key in either your 7-digit NRIC number, last 4 digits or 16 digits of Credit or Debit Card number.
  • Authenticate using Push Notification/ OTP/ TPIN.
  • Check your SMS and email to confirm that Kill Switch has been activated successfully. If you did not receive a confirmation SMS or email, Kill Switch may not have been activated. If so, you should call our CitiPhone hotline at +65 6225 5225 to seek immediate assistance.
  • If Kill Switch has been activated successfully, our officers will contact you within 24 hours to restore your access and assist you with the necessary follow-up actions.

If your card is missing, you may consider locking your card temporarily via the Citi Mobile® App. This prevents
transactions being posted on your card while you search for it.
